SJ Tree Services

About South Jersey Tree Service

We're a locally owned tree service with 20+ years of combined experience working the same neighborhoods we live in. We answer the phone, we show up when we say we will, and we do the work the right way — even when nobody's watching.

How we got here

We started doing tree work the way most small operations do: a couple of trucks, a chipper, and a rope. Over the years we added climbers who'd been ground crew with us for seasons before they were ready, invested in cranes and grapple trucks for the bigger jobs, and built up a reputation that brought us steady work without ever needing to chase storms or pressure homeowners. Most of our calls come from neighbors of people we've worked for. That tells us we're doing it right.

What we believe about trees

Trees outlive us. The tulip poplar in your front yard was probably there before the house, and if it's well cared for, it'll be there after the house too. That fact shapes how we work. We don't top trees because someone wanted "less leaves." We don't take down a 200-year-old beech because it would be easier than pruning it. We don't pad estimates to upsell removals. And we'd rather lose a bid than do work we can't stand behind.

That doesn't mean we save every tree. Sometimes the right answer is removal, and we say so. The point is that the answer is the answer, not whatever happens to be more profitable for us this week.

Crews and equipment

Every crew on the road is a real employee — full workers' comp coverage, ongoing training in modern climbing and rigging techniques, and at least one ISA-credentialed arborist or equivalent on every senior team. We carry $2 million in general liability. Our equipment is current: bucket trucks for reach jobs, climbers and rope systems for tight access, cranes for big oaks, grapple trucks and chippers for clean and fast brush handling, and stump grinders sized for everything from 4-inch dogwood stumps to 60-inch oak monsters.

Where we work

We cover South Jersey — specifically Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties. That's Cherry Hill, Marlton, Mount Laurel, Voorhees, Medford, Moorestown, Camden, Gloucester Township, Washington Township, Sicklerville, Williamstown, Sewell, and Mullica Hill. If you're between two of those, you're probably in our area too — give us a call.
